Welcome to the Bear Den!

Bear scouts comprise 3rd graders or youth between the ages of 8-9 years.

This is the year your scout will grow in amazing ways.  In previous years, a lot of the scouting activities your scout has participated in has been done with you as their partner or completed in den meetings.  This year your scout will gradually begin doing more things on their own and taking responsibility for their growth in scouting as they prepare for Webelos.

While we encourage your active participation in your child's scouting endeavors, we expect their work to show through, as some of the activities we want the scouts to do as bears will depend greatly on how well all of the scouts handle themselves and grow throughout the year.  We also expect them to uphold the Scout Law to ensure our meetings are fun for everyone.

World Conservation Award

This award is available to Wolves, Bears, and Webelos. The purpose of the award is to help Cub Scouts think about how we are all interdependent on our environment.  We will focus a lot of our time learning about land stewardship, respecting nature, and keeping our ecological footprint to a minimum.  Our den will be working on this badge throughout the year for rank and elective requirements and finishing it after the boys receive their bear badge.  Every boy will have the opportunity to participate in at least one conservation project to work for this award.  The first project is Beach Sweep this September.  Other opportunities will take place later in Spring of 2015.
